About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Estimator and working as part of a small team, you will use your industry expertise and strong stakeholder engagement to deliver high quality estimates and bids with a focus on the following key responsibilities:

  • Estimating from First Principles, for a contractor who directly delivers services to mining operators
  • Detailed rates build-up (labour, equipment, maintenance, unit, fixed price and schedule of rates)
  • Preparing tender schedules, org charts, equipment lists, materials takeoffs, production calculations
  • Preparing tender submissions, presentations, estimates and schedules for projects
  • Interpret client scopes, appreciate client’s underlying drivers and plan commercially viable project solutions
  • Work closely with our Senior Managers to coordinate tender expectations
  • Manage tender enquiries and ensure that tenders are completed professionally and timely

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will possess strong communication and presentation skills coupled with a desire to learn and grow within our business. The right candidate will be self-motivated, a natural problem solver and have strong time management skills. Key attributes we seek in this role include:

  • Demonstrated experienced in underground mining (Coal or Hardrock), tunnelling, construction, or engineering highly desirable
  • Strong background in estimation, commercials and bid management
  • Ability to take the lead on tenders <$30M, and be involved in large scale underground mining projects in the range of $500M
  • Knowledge of underground coal mining and related equipment will be very highly regarded
  • Proven track record of winning tenders on mining and civil infrastructure projects
